The Liberty Foundation supports and tours this fine relic of WWII to selected cities around the US. I have been fortunate to see her in action the last two years when she visited Hillsboro, Oregon.

BAD NEWS!!! This fine piece of American history made a forced landing in a field and burned Monday 06/13/2011 near Chicago! The fire trucks could not reach her due to recent rains and the crew had to watch her burn! All seven aboard escaped with only minor injuries.

"I took my 6-yr old 'little brother' (Big Bro's Prog.) because I wanted to share with him the thrill & the excitement that 'hands-on' exposure to our Nation's vital WWII history has always energized in me. Being born in 1950, I grew up immersed in stories of our wartime experiences. By providing this amazing link to the men & machines of that era, you have brought to life that incredible time of heroism, endurance, commitment to duty & sacrifice which was made to preserve our way of life & to give a chance for a decent life to people around the globe. Everything that I try to pass on to today's youngsters is made so real by the experience of touring this splendid aircraft. My 'little brother' & I absolutely loved it! What a wonderful thrill!! Thank you so much!!" ps. Fantastic pictures! Great job! Thanx!

Saw the Liberty Bell fly over my house in Clackamas twice today...had no idea it was in town. Bet it was a blast and a bit of nostalgia? to be on board. I was born at the end of 1945 but have a lot of sentiment for WWII and all that went on. Thanks for the pictures and thanks to all those that have flown and fought in the Fortress.
